Vintage Japanese copper pot with lid, crafted in the style of 鎚起銅器 / tsuiki dōki, traditional hammered copperwork. The object features a dark patinated finish with a finely hammered, almost kikko-like pattern. This gives the copper a deep, warm appearance.
The piece comes with the original box and a Japanese leaflet explaining the hammered copperwork technique. The leaflet refers to 富貴堂 / Fūkidō. The text also states that the object follows the tradition and atmosphere of handmade tsuiki copperwork, but was partly manufactured using molds or mechanical assistance.
A beautiful vintage Japanese craft object presumably from the mid to late Shōwa period, suitable as a decorative pot with lid, a small tea-related object, or a collector's item.
