This original and used Noh mask is known as a "Waka Onna" and depicts a young woman. It is traditionally used in Japanese Noh theatre. The mask comes from Japan and is signed.

Noh is an important form of classical Japanese dance drama that has been performed since the 14th century. Noh masks are one of the most recognizable features of this theatrical form, and are used to emphasize facial expressions to stimulate the audience's imagination.

The Waka Onna mask has a graceful and reserved expression, embodying the beauty and innocence of a young woman. The soft smile and gentle eyes emphasize femininity and elegance.

Why so expensive:
No-masks are masks used in Nogaku, a traditional performing art that began 700 years ago during the Kamakura period in Japan. Nogaku was once on the verge of extinction, but was preserved by the Emperor of Japan as a traditional art form and has been passed down to this day.

This is a custom-made Nogaku mask that was made to order. The mask represents all the emotions in a Nogaku play, such as joy, anger, sadness, and pleasure.
