A unique, hand-painted hanging scroll work, created live in my tattoo studio by Irregular Tattooer, from Hong Kong.
The painting depicts a powerful bird of prey in a full dive, with outstretched wings and talons extended. Below it, a smaller bird moves through the landscape of loose ink strokes. The work captures a moment of tension: silence before impact, instinct, focus, and movement.
The brushwork is raw and expressive. Black and grey ink wash areas form the wings, clouds, and branches, while warm accents in brown and orange bring the composition to life. The talons, eye, and beak jump straight forward. The open space within the scroll keeps the work light, yet the energy of the bird of prey makes it powerful and present.
The scroll is finished with gold-colored brocade fabric with a traditional pattern, brown edges, and a ribbon to roll up and close the scroll.
The artist's signature/seal is visible on the left side of the painting. A one-of-a-kind piece, handmade — not a print.
