Hand-painted porcelain rice bowl with traditional Japanese motifs in underglaze blue, iron red, and green enamel. Found at the monthly antique market in Kawagoe, Japan. A charming example of everyday Japanese tableware with signs of use that contribute to its characteristic appearance.
Specifications: Dating: Probably somewhere between 1920 and 1960. It cannot be ruled out that it is slightly older.
Dimensions: Diameter ±13 cm. Height approximately 6 to 7 cm.
Function: Chawan (rice bowl). May also have been used as a small donburi or tea bowl.
